Helen worked to overcome her great odds, and was very smart at doing this. Helen not only became an intelligent person in her words and actions but also became a good writer and became one succesful person on her own. In Helens' life she also struggled hard to communicate with others , when she learned how to doubt with communication she showed great loyality towards her family and her private teacher Anne Sullivan. Posting 2: A Model Life

Helen Keller was not born blind or deaf . At the young age of 19 months she had contracted an illness(might be known as scarlet fever) which gave her a high fever which lasted for not to long but did leave her with life changing long term affects. Her illness for a short period of time left Helen with the lost of sight , and the lost of hearing; being deaf. Helen had a hard time communicating she was often frustrated because she could not hear or see anything , which stopped her from speaking which left her mute. At the age of 6 she began to throw tantrums everywhere . Helens parents new that she was an intelligent human being, and that she needed help to overcome her handicap of being deaf mute and blind.

They then brought in a woman named Anne Sullivan as her private teacher who helped Helen for over 50 years with over comming her handicap. Anne sullivan helped Helen understand that just because she could not see hear or speak anything that there was a whole world out there full of things she would be able to do to communicate otherwise. Anne taught Helen how to make words with her hands , read peoples lips with her fingers and also how to read braille . Anne never gave up on Helen because she knew deep down inside Helen was intelligent and this shows in Helens life. Helen than became the first deaf and blind person to earn the bachelor degree of arts, and through out her life was also and American author , political activist and lecturer. Without the faith and hope Miss. Anne Sullivan brought into Helen Kellers life , Helen wouldn't have been who she is known to be today. Helen had courage and strength to be become someone , she overcame her handicap because of the faith and hope Anne Sullivan brought into her life. Anne never gave up on Helen , she worked with Helen for so many years and had so much love and passion for Helen. She knew Helen was stronger deep down inside and just needed alittle push to help her overcome her handicap of being deaf blind and mute on the outside. Helen Keller attempted to live life , and tried to not let her handicap of being blind or deaf weigh her down. Helen fought to learn life the harder way and in the long run succeded very well. Helen Keller has showed us all around the world and still today , that there is life after tradgedies and if we just fight it and learn about things with our heart and through passion that we could overcome anything.

Posting 3: Living the Beatitude

The beatitude that is posessed or was demostrated in Helen Kellers life is the beatitude of “ Blessed are those who are meek , for they shall inherit the earth”. I chose this beatitude because Helen Kellers life can relate to this beatitude very much , it explains alot of what Helens life was and what she is to expect for all her positive actions towards life in the after math. This beatitude I chose relates to Helen because she was a very meek person , her acts that were possesed were very positive towards life. Helen was a very kind gentil perosn yet quite determined in life to show her hanndicap wasn't visible when you had a heart like hers. I also think Helen Keller deserves the world, its respect and the thanks for being who she had to be. Even though Helen was blind mute and deaf it did not stop her one bit from showing others including herself that life could be lived no matter what you can see or hear. That the world is full of wonders and that sometimes with the passion of the heart , and loyality and generosity and meekness that the world could be in your hands.

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched they must be felt with the heart”

Posting 4 : Reflection

a) After have chosen Helen Keller as a person of virtue for me, I had already knew of whom she was but I did not know here lifes story. After learning and researching for this project I have learned so much about Helen Keller. I have witnessed the faults and struggles of her actions , but I have also witnessed the portrayal of passion she truly had inside. Helen Keller was one person of virtue who showed trueness in life , and also was very determined to show others including herself that life isn't just beautiful or wonderful because you could see or hear what`s in in , but also by understanding the true meaning of the world and people. By truly getting to know people from their inside out. By understanding them from your heart and not only judging them from what you see and what you hear . I have learned so much about Helen Keller and her life , and she truly shows me that lifes a struggle, but if you use your heart and just your heart that you could travel this world and people , and find its wonders.

b)Helen Keller and her life has truly inspired me. She inspired me by showing me that if you live the beatitude of , “ Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth” that it is truly an amazing beatitude which she portrays. This beatitude inspires me through Helen Kellers life because she is just like it. Helen Kellers life explains this beatitude, because she shows that even though she is blind, deaf and mute that she can still live a world, better from those who have all these things. It shows how the true meek people who struggle for what is right and what has to be done, shall inherit the world the love and God itself.

c)The challenges or difficulties I might face in living this beatitude in my own life is to be as determined and meek as Helen Keller was. In my life I have all three , I have the ability to hear the beautiful sounds in the world, I could see the wonders , and I also have the ability to communicate and create my own sounds in using my voice. Yet I am not like Helen, I do not always truly thank the world for what it is. I don't truly understand people or things for what they are and what they have done for the world and me. It will be hard for me to portray this beatitude Helen Keller has, because the most beautiful things in the world I could see and touch but I dont appreciate them as much as Helen did with the feelings of her heart. By learning every aspect of Helen Kellers life and trueness in this world I have learned that to thankfully accept life and fight for what I believe in is something I should begin to do. Helen Keller deserves to inherit the earth because of the passion and determination she has portayed by this beatitude.

“ Helen keller was able to live in a world unknown to her,
by using the eyes and ears of others around her”
